Maintain the Chain Event

Join us August 3-11, 2024 for the 4th annual MTC event and help protect the ADK!!!

The 2nd annual EcoArts Festival at View in Old Forge will be held Saturday, August 3rd from 10am - 2pm.

Registration for the 2024 MTC event will begin in May. 


Participants are asked to submit photos of your self-directed projects via email by to be in the running for the "Best Project" award and to win gifts of appreciation. Winners of the "Best Project" award will receive a plaque with their name(s) engraved on it.  In addition, names will be added to plaques housed in both the Town of Inlet and the Town of Webb public spaces.


If you are not in the ADK during this time, please feel free to complete a self-directed project anytime it is convenient for you!

Congratulations to the Winners of the 2023 MTC "Best Project" Award

The Adams Family collected close to 20 bags of trash on Hackensack Mountain near Warrensburg, NY for their self-directed MTC project. They even brought home two tires to upcycle! We are grateful for their hard work and support.

Remember Leave No Trace! 

Friends of Moody Pond in Saranac Lake held an Earth Day cleanup (April 2024) taking on the Leave No Trace Challenge after seeing this global event posted on our MTC Facebook page. We hope this inspires others to take the challenge and protect the Adirondack Park! 

The Boon family clean-up a campsite along the Sis and Bubb trail during an October 2021 hike. 

Paddling on Fourth Lake after July 4, 2022.  Collected garbage floating in the water.  Recycled the bottle!  Every bit helps.
